Re: Returning to Portugal?
I have a ferry booked from Portsmouth to Santander on July 20th, so I’m sure everything will have changed by then anyway, one way or the other. Obviously, we will have to drive through Spain to get back to CVO, so it’ll be interesting to see what the regulations are at that time. Regardless, I canno...

Re: Property Service Costs
Housekeeping is probably 8 hours/week, when the house is occupied and the pool cleaning 1-2 hours a week. I’m not sure what happens when the house is unoccupied, although they state that they attend regularly. This is not substantiated by the activity report that I have just received from Securitas....

Property Service Costs
We purchased our property just over ten years ago at ADM. Along with the house, we continued to use the services of the housekeeper and her husband, who cleans to pool. The gardener is also covered by the monthly charges paid to the housekeeper. At the time, we were told that good housekeepers were ...

Drones
Just arrived for a couple of days, sat outside enjoying the peace and then, a drone flies overhead taking photos of the new German Eco development across the road. The bloody thing is flying over our pool, so an altercation ensued with the controller. What is the script here, surely, you cannot have...

Re: ADM DRAINS?
Can anyone update me on the latest situation on the drains at ADM? We have had our bill from the council for our contribution to the work, which we have paid. As we do not have a septic tank, I thought we were ok, but I have been advised that we have a sespit, and that we will have to pay to have a ...

Solar panels
Hi Guys,
Just arrived at our place to find no hot water. Can anyone recommend an engineer to check out the system or replace if necessary? The housekeeper is bringing someone over this afternoon, but I know the price will be double, if you know what I mean
Thanks,
Matryx

Re: Mike Clarke - Carleton Properties
I have only just read this and I'm shocked by the news. We bought our house through Mike and felt totally reassured that we were doing the right thing and following the right process. I great guy and he'll be sadly missed, RIP.

Re: Burgled
It's a terrible thing, and a personal violation, especially if you are in the house when it happens. I would think that It's pretty unusual in CVO for a house break-In whilst the occupants are actually in, especially when alarmed and shuttered etc?

Pet Friendly Hotel
Can anyone recommend a pet friendly ( 2 retrievers) hotel near Bilbao? The return ferry at the end of August departs Bilbao quite early in the morning, so I'll never make the journey in one hit unless driving throughout the night, which I don't particularly fancy

Re: Portsmouth Santander ferry.
I couldn't get on the Plymouth to Santander ferry this summer, as there was no room for the dogs. We're doing Portsmouth to Bilbao, which is a bit of a pain but never mind.

Re: Heating
Hi thanks for all your thoughts. Matryx with regards to air conditioning how many units do you have and can you give a rough idea of the cost to instal. Apologies for the delay, I've been travelling on business. We have a unit in the lounge, one in the hall, and one in each of the 3 bedrooms in the...

Re: Heating
We installed air conditioning that also controls humidity and provides heating, and the system is really great throughout the year. The heating works quickly, and if the house has been empty for a couple of months during the winter, then the damp disappears within a couple of days as well.

Re: Local Vet
There is also a good vet in Lagoa, on the road behind Neto. I think it cost 30 euros last year to have my two retrievers checked before returning to the UK. They have always got the paperwork right, so happy to recommend as an alternative.
