Re: Tennis

I think QdP would be happy for your custom - don’t know what the charge would be but it’s got to be less than the main tennis club as the QdP courts are not in very good condition. In response to our requests for the net tape to be mended on at least one of the courts (which did eventually happen) t...

Modas Carlos linen/towels Lagoa

Don’t know how I have never come across this shop before. (Apparently they have been there for 50yrs!) Great aladdin’s Cave of a place with large selection of towels, bed linen and furnishings. Have just ordered a load of replacement stuff for our villa. They even sewed hanging up loops onto the T-t...

Re: Charity Walk & Lunch : Saturday 6 January 2018

Thanks very much to Su and Mike for organising the walk and such gorgeous weather this morning - sunshine and clear blue skies followed by excellent 7.50E lunch. Very handy to be shown the route ‘over the top’ which we hadn’t done before - fabulous views across to Monchique hills. Look forward to se...

Re: Monarch

Yes, really sad. Have just spent much of today trying to help a family who were due to be staying in our villa for the October half term holiday - alternative flights are now priced at double what they originally paid - so they may decide to cancel the whole holiday.

Re: Bike Hire

What a missed opportunity (and an enormous waste of money): We tried to use the Bewegen Lagos e-bikes from the Carvoeiro beach kiosk today - complete failure. It all sounds very organised on the website, we downloaded the app no problem but when we came to enter the bike number in order to receive a...

Re: Ryanair flights Luton and Manchester

Hoping it is not too early to breathe a sigh of relief........Ryanair have just posted a list of all the flights that will be cancelled over the next month on their website and, unless I haven't looked carefully enough, flights to and from Faro do not seem to be there - Phew! What a shame however fo...

Ryanair flights Luton and Manchester

We've been watching the Ryanair news re their latest example of arrogant disregard for their customers with some concern: We avoided using Ryanair for many years just because of their previous reputation for messing customers about and only recently braved booking with them again. Having arriving in...

Re: Mattress topper

Can't remember the exact name but there is a linen and textiles place ina small run of warehouse type outlets on the RH side of the N125 soon after the Armacao de Pera motorway junction, (coming from cvo). We got mattress toppers, decent sized pillows, towels etc here. Closer than IKEA!

Re: Faro Airport

Took only 1 hour yesterday from dropping our car off in P1 to getting through bag drop, security and then passport control - we considered that pretty good. The departure hall after security was chaos but everything moved quickly. Also had no delay when we arrived 10 days ago. Problem now is the roa...

Re: Bridge Lagoa - Carvoeiro area

Details of these regular bridge sessions are always posted in the weekly Algarve Resident newspaper under the What's On section. If I've interpreted the info correctly then you can play somewhere every day of the week except Tuesday (info on the Cristal Hotel sessions may be out of date): Monday: At...

Re: New to CVO

Welcome to the cvo forum. We've just got back from lovely 10 days in cvo - the current weather in the UK is therefore a bit of a shock to the system! From L'Orange into town should only take 10 mins - but depends on how fast you walk! Everyone will have their own favourites but our personal list of ...
