Re: long term apartment rental
You may find that rentals starting in june will be expensive as you are looking for the best months in the Algarve. Winter rentals starting end of October for 4-6 months are always cheap, and proper long term (minimum 12 months) is good value compared to the summer rentals. FOr 12 months two bedroom...

Re: Tv question
As the others have said, something like a Vodafone sharing dock for the wifi access, and then use skype for the phone calls. Either direct skype to skype or you can dial phone numbers (mobile or landline). I have an O2 phone, and I am charged something like £1.66 per day and for that I get 50Mb of d...

Re: Monte Dourado or Rocha Brava
There are other options, you know! If I were you, I would not limit myself to those two resorts. If you do, then my personal preference is Rocha Brava as I play tennis, and the little club there is lovely. However, it is run separately so you have to pay to use it ... But you may find that living on...

Re: Strange Property Question
I come over every two weeks or so minimum - and the winter this year was definitely not long and dark (at least compared with the UK and I was able to do some very direct comparisons!) Personally, I think Rocha Brava is a great resort, particularly if you want to rent out a lot, but it IS very expen...

Re: best steak
Fim do Mundo is streets ahead of any steak I have had in Carvoerio. Go for the 30 days Angus - amazing. Expensive, yes - but enough meat for 3 meals!
In fact, it is possibly the best steak I have ever had.
You have to book - even in the middle of January they were full every night!

Re: Pool Table
The Rocha Brava tables are dreadful - one of them swallowed 4 euros before we could get any balls out. Then the white was potted by accident - we never saw it again so had to nominate another ball - I wonder if the fact they are outside all day in the sun swells up the runner tracks and stops the ba...

Rocha Brava
I understand that there was a court case in the past few years with the villa owners on the edge of Rocha Brava who did not want to pay full condo charges to the Rocha Brava management.
Does anyone know who represented the Rocha Brava Management in this case?
Many thanks for any help you can offer.

Re: Worst meal in Carvoeiro?
fmm, how was your experience at Ele & Ela recently? We have not been for a few years although we used to be regulars when Kim was there. We are quite happy to give it another go. Worst place we have been to for service is Julios. Pretentious or what! Actually, we chickened out and cancelled and boo...

Re: Rocha Brava
Maybe, Pato - I thought someone, somewhere may have a spare child for mine to hang out with! btw - when we had the ashcloud, I had 2 lots of forumers staying in my apartment free of charge as they were thrown out of the places they were staying in and had nowhere else to go ... So there are occasion...

Re: Worst meal in Carvoeiro?
I have just booked Ele and Ella for this Saturday. The last time I ate here was several years ago where we were sat at the back of the restaurant (despite having booked days in advance and requested a specific table), the waiter was unbelievably off hand and in the end we left. Booked it whilst walk...

Re: Villa Medici
A colleague used my apartment in July, and was told that the owners of Villa Medici are the same as those who own Primavera and also the new WIne Bar opposite (Terroir) - as well as somewhere in the main town.
