Re: Abandoned dog?

It might be a good idea for you to email www.sosalgarveanimals & send the information & photo to them. They often post missing animals on their website.
Unfortunately Portugal has one of the highest rates of animal abandonment in Europe. I hope this one is just lost & the owner is looking for him.

Re: Tapas Bar rebuilding

I don't know about changing the menu I hope it's going to change it's chef. I went with a friend in the summer, he ordered various 'tapas' & I really don't know how they've got the front to call them tapas & I had the worst ever salad nicoise, half an iceberg lettuce, really cheap & nasty tasting tu...

Re: List of Vets in the area - please help

At our UK home our cat was always getting shut in our neighbours garage, & they would often go away for days, hopefully your cat has just been shut in somewhere & will return soon. Cute dog, have you tried Dr Kirsten Peter's veterinary practice, used to be in Guia but they are now in Alcantarilha, v...

Re: Burgled again - the straw that broke the Camel's back

I'm sorry Shanagarry, I thought you had rescued him & didn't know that you had rehomed him with a friend, I saw your dog on a friends Facebook page a few days ago with the write up "Can you help? Desperate for a new home" asking for someone to offer to give him a loving home & I misunderstood the si...

Re: Burgled again - the straw that broke the Camel's back

Shanagarry I'm sorry I didn't mean where 'you' live I meant where 'one' lives, I wonder if where 'one' lives makes a difference? What do you mean the dog's being rehomed?! Didn't you rescue him in the first place? I don't care where I was going I could never leave my dogs, if I couldn't take them wi...

Re: Burgled again - the straw that broke the Camel's back

I think this is a great shame, I don't know if where you live makes a huge difference, I guess it must. We've lived here nearly seven years now & been burgled once & that was in a rental in ADM. We've lived in the campo for five years & as I type I have lots of doors & window open, we always do, we ...

Re: Best restaurant for 10 year anniversary

Rei das Praias we went there on the 1st August to celebrate our 25th anniversary, it was absolutely brilliant. There's plenty of choice for non-fish eaters & the price is not unreasonable for the location, our local beach restaurant at Gale beach charges €10 - €20 more per kilo for their fish, 6 of ...

Re: Salgados

Silves Camara's decision is completely insane. Anyone who lives within the countryside of the Silves borough know how difficult it is to get planning permission for anything, we know many people who can't get permission for a pool or garage. The area we are in has just been designated area elcologic...

Re: Celebtrities in CVO

We were in one of favourite restaurants Alantico in Guia a while ago when Cliff, Cilla & Gloria arrived. It was quite surreal, turns out it's one of his favourites too. They even have a Cliff calander behind the bar. We haven't let it put us off but if any of them start singing, well the bread rolls...

We had a lovely meal in O Cactao, mixed international menu when we went. Really good.
There is a mexican in Ferragudo now I think, where Banards used to be.

Re: Jubilee Celebrations

The Algarve Fair at the Fatacil is always worth a visit & I understand there will be Jubilee celebrations along with all the usual many attractions. Adam from Mucky Mutts will be bathing dogs for charity, so if your mutt is a bit mucky take it along, it can have a shampoo & blow dry & the fee will g...

Re: Camping stove

Intermarche used to have them. They were, as you entered the shop, on the right hand side wall. Continente (Guia) definitely had them last week.
